AMUR LEOPARD by Nikolett Patalášová   SOME INFORMATION ABOUT AMUR LEOPARD People usually think of leopards in the savannas of Africa but in the Russian Far East, a rare subspecies has adapted to life in the temperate forests that make up the northern-most part of the species' range. Similar to other leopards, the Amur leopard can run at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour. This incredible animal has been reported to leap more than 19 feet horizontally and up to 10 feet vertically.   The Creatures of Mariana Trench by Sofia Kolevová   People always feared the unknown. nowadays they think that we have discovered every inch of the Earth, but that is not quite true. Scientist have discovered lesser than 35% of our planet and lesser than 5% of the oceans. The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth and who knows what else is hiding in the deep. Mariana trench is the deepest place on Earth (about 10 994 meters), it is long about 2 550 kilometers, wide about 70 kilometers, and many peculiar creatures “call” it their home. One of those creatures is Barreleye fish, also known as spook fish. This type of fish has transparent head, which reveals their eyes and other organs. Their main source of food is zooplankton or microscopic animals. Barreleyes live at the depths of 550 meters to 800 metres. Other creatures are the family of Stomiidae. These fish are quite small, from 15 to 26 centimetres. They are predators and have their jaw full of fang-like teeth, they ca
How human health depends on biodiversity by Mia Mužíková People depend on biodiversity in their daily lives, in ways that are often not apparent and appreciated. Life is what we stand for, together with environment, we compete the Earth's nature. Biodiversity and ecosystem is the Earth's life, providing the planet a life for those who exist in it. We will talk about the relations of human health to biodiversity, and how much is it crucial for every kind of species on Earth. How will human health endlessly depend on biodiversity as the result of it, is extinction? We all know that biodiversity is the variety of species in which human health depend in it by producing medical help and food from animals and plants. There are such a ways that humans are able to control those activities by the proper shared knowledge about the whole biodiversity and nature. Human health ultimately depends on ecosystem products and services, and much are needed for good human health and livel
How can we save Our Earth? by Timea Gašparíková   Every day, human activity further damages Earth's environment. Many people do not realize that we are destroying our planet ourselves. As humans, we have a responsibility to protect and care for our planet. Our planet has given us a lot, it's time to repay her. These are the ways, thanks to which we can take care of the earth and save her.   Reduce, Reuse and Recycle This rule is part of the waste hierarchy which is a process used to protect the environment and conserve resources through a priority approach. The aim is to get the most practical benefits from products and to generate the minimum amount of waste. This approach also triggers other positive externalities such as resource savings, pollution reduction, and avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions, development of sustainable technologies and creation of jobs. Waste reduction and waste prevention.   In ter
How can individual human choice impact climate change? by Lara Šípovská The status of our earth is very critical. The climate gets worse each day and many people think that there is nothing we can do with it. But that's wrong because there is always something we can do. Believe it or not, even one person can impact climate change.                 Let's take a look on human mindset. What most of the people do is that they put their mindset on: “I am just one person and there is nothing I can do.” But what if all of those people thought: “I will no longer do what the most of the people do. I'm going to create some new habits of mine, while they would help our earth to recover or at least not to damage it even more,” instead? You always need to remind yourself that it's not only the planet you would help. It's also for you and the following generations. There is a lot of different ways to help our environment and all of them are pretty simple and can be also ente

Palm oil – deforestation for everyday products                                                                      Karin Sýkorová   At 66 million tons annually, palm oil is the most commonly produced vegetable oil. Its low world market price and properties that lend themselves to processed foods have led the food industry to use it in  half of all supermarket products . Palm oil can be found in many frozen products, biscuits, as well as body creams, soaps, makeup and   candles . Few people realize that  almost half of the palm oil imported into the EU is used as biofuel . Since 2009, the mandatory blending of biofuels into motor vehicle fuels has been a major cause of deforestation. Oil palm plantations currently cover more than 27 million hectares of the Earth’s surface. Forests and human settlements have been destroyed and replaced by “green deserts” containing virtually no biodiversity on  an area the size of New Zealand .   The impact – suffering and death in produce
